Touchstone Engineers designed a generator reconfiguration to reduce single-point failure risks. Six end-of-life ATSs were replaced with five new ATSs, an existing N+1 generator system was reconfigured with new and modified switchgear to 2N redundant, a roll-up generator docking station was added and an end-of-life generator system with parallel switchgear was removed. Cooling power was reconfigured to reduce single-point failure risk. Existing ATSs and generator parallel switchgear had not been maintained in many years, adding urgency to replacement. Touchstone worked closely with installing contractors to develop, rehearse and carefully execute several live-work MoPs. Work was performed around the live data center with no downtime.
